The power to think is absolutely remarkable and the power to control thinking is even more soit is much more difficult to achieve because thinking is habitual, ingrained.

Most people become conditioned to living within narrow confines, sealed within their own thoughts which have become a complex mass of mental, nervous and physical habits controlled by a few ruling ideas, ideals, desires and a self-perpetuating set of egotistical forces all of which tightly control them, making them prisoners of their own self-conditioning. In order to break out from that dilemma and to open ourselves to the world and to the spirit we must discover how to overcome our thoughts. We may begin by the process of learning to clear our minds of turmoil.

We must not commit the mistake of struggling mentally with our mind. Each of us has an aspiration above the mind, which is a need of our core being to shift away from our narrow and confined consciousness. Instead of fighting our own nature we must learn to quiet our mind and once we commence by some method to obtain a tranquil, calm peace of mind the task is assumed by a grace from above from that to which one aspires the soul and the spirit.

Then begins a process once one has started out upon the way during which they discover that their mind is not really an instrument of knowledge but it is only an organizer of knowledge which comes from elsewhere and that a whole range of latent faculties and invisible forces exists which considerably surpass the possibilities of their own mind and can do for them that of which they are incapable. But first they must clear the passage between the conscious mind and the spiritual consciousness and its powers which are already resident there within them.

The practice of meditation is quite helpful at first but it is not the true solution because we need to lead a complete life to live the truth of our real being every day at every moment not only when we are in solitude. We have to learn to practice quieting our mind where it is apparently most difficult everywhere. There exists a void within us which is to become filled by the descent of the force of the spiritual consciousness which will envelop us, refresh us and energize us.

It is at first almost imperceptible until some distraction or other effect causes us to become separated from the energies and we find ourselves suddenly feeling empty, bereft, with a disagreeable sensation. The current of descending force and power is at first quite diluted but with patience we will eventually become charged with energy.

The descending force is the very force of the spirit and it will no longer be necessary for us to close our eyes and withdraw from the material aspects of daily living in the world in order for us to be able to feel it. It will be there constantly no matter what one is doing at the time and it will gather in intensity as the individual becomes accustomed to it. In fact it is a form of energy which is limited only by our capacity for receptivity. The experience of our response to the descending and transforming force of the divine consciousness is that it modifies our energies by illuminating the summit of our consciousness first and then descends from level to level gently, peacefully but also irresistibly, never violently. Its power is directed by the wisdom of the divine spirit consciousness and it is this which will transform our entire being down to the lowest level.

The higher spiritual energy force from above enters and works in us by descending first to where it liberates the inner mind centres then downwards into the other vital centres throughout the body where it works on the whole being and establishes a new rhythm in our human nature. Our mind was not meant to be our master nor thoughts our chains. With firm faith and unbending resolve we can gain control over our mind and freedom from all its restlessness. We must learn to master our mind and control its wanderings and insulate it against undue outside influences. There must be no restlessness or disturbance.  We should develop a calm, unmoved state and what will follow is deliverance a silence and stillness no outer actions can shatter or change.

By these things is spirituality realized: Love for the Spirit; Love for all beings; Overcoming narrow egotistic demands and actions; Entering into a wider consciousness of all existence; Descent of spiritual light and power; and transformation of our human nature through descent of the spiritual force. First we must make the sincere call and whatever the obstacles we must aspire, for all will be made possible by divine grace. One who discovers their spirit will discern that God has summoned us to unfold a new life and reveal a new spirit to this world.

There is a great continuing struggle between beliefs – Faith – and knowledge which we must overcome because the present authority of science promulgates pure coincidence for the origin of the universe and for the origins of life. Questions about the very existence of God and why there exist so many different religions are of great concern to many people searching for spiritual truth…
